Language Service

Presentation

Mastery of foreign languages and the abilty to communicate both orally and in writing in one’s own language are increasingly necessary skills in the university world (teaching, research and mobility) and in the social and professional spheres.

At the Language Service you will be able to learn or perfect your English, German, French and Italian in courses of various lengths (during the academic year or in the summer). You will also be able to perfect your Catalan, acquire the official certificate and improve your oral and written communication abilities through specific training. If you havejust arrived in our country, the Language Service can provide you with the means to learn Catalan and Spanish.

The Language Service can also advise you on other language issues (general doubts about terminology or the use of language, and text correction and translation).

The Service also enables you to take part in campaigns to promote Catalan at the University, as one of the Language Volunteers, who give personalised support to those students who do not speak Catalan.
