Presentation

With the aim of encouraging enterprise and the creation of companies in the Tarragona area, the Rovira i Virgili University has promoted the URV-Business Chair of Enterprise and Business Creation.

This chair has been created with the support of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Reus, Tarragona and Tortosa, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Valls, the Business Confederation of the Province of Tarragona and the Rovira i Virgili University Council.

The chair has the following aims:

• To encourage the creation of businesses from the University, especially technologically based businesses.
• To give support to entrepreneurs setting up businesses.
• To serve as a catalyst for the different entrepreneurial entities and organisms in the university environment.

To promote enterprise in the Tarragona area in general and among URV students in particular. In order to carry out its mission, the chair works in the following principal areas:

• Training URV students
• Training other collectives
• Supporting the creation of companies (identifying projects, supporting business creation and survival)
• Supporting research and innovation in enterprise, business creation, transfer and dissemination.

Management organs

The URV-Business Chair of Enterprise is made up of three organs: the Management, the Monitoring Committee and the Advisory Committee.

The chair's sponsors have an essential role in the modernization and competitiveness of Catalan businesses, given that they offer these businesses a wide range of services in fields such as the installation of new technologies, permanent training, promotion, logistic support, and external promotion and projection.
