URV Chairs

University chairs are a tool which strengthens research, development and innovation, and which work for different social and cultural causes. At present there are five at the URV, three of them set up in conjunction which private businesses and two with UNESCO.
The University-Business chairs are instruments which foster lasting collaborative agreements between both parties and which thus guarantee long term work with wide-ranging aims in teaching, research and technology transfer. The impetus behind the agreement goes beyond the strictly economic and places special emphasis on actions which promote innovation and interdisciplinarity.
These chairs also aim to organize seminars, conferences, symposia and specific courses, to foster students’ work experience, to promote end of degree studies and doctoral theses, and to help companies to find the professionals and technologies suitable for their needs.
For their part, the UNESCO chairs aim to promote harmony and work among universities around the world in order to reinforce cooperation, knowledge transfer and academic solidarity between them.
