This was created given the importance of industrial safety in advanced societies and in the regional context of Tarragona in particular, in order to generate and socialise knowledge in this sphere.
Enresa and the URV believe that industrial safety is key to the competitiveness and sustainability of industrial activity and that the socialisation of a risk culture among citizens has become vital in our society.
The concept of industrial safety is understood in the broadest sense and includes the planning and management of safety in industrial sectors with a greater potential risk (chemical, nuclear, radioactive waste, etc.), in addition to socio-economic, regional and communication aspects.
The activities of this chair impact upon the spheres of training, research, transfer and promotion. It aims to stimulate individual and social debate and reflection and to promote research and learning activities on issues related to the discipline. An informative and interactive website on industrial safety is currently being developed. Finally, it places particular emphasis on collaboration with public administrations, especially the local administration.
