Foreign students and visiting professors
The URV has an accommodation service that provides students with information about residences and other types of accommodation.
The cheapest type of accommodation is usually flat-sharing with other students. If you prefer this option we recommend that you look for a flat before you arrive or to reserve a room in a hotel or guest house for the first few days in Tarragona/Reus/Tortosa/Vila-Seca.
When you arrive, you should see your mobility coordinator for your course you are on. This person will advise you and help you with academic matters. You can find the names and addresses of all the URV coordinators at the following web site:
Once you have contacted your coordinator, you should phone the International Relations Office (ORI) to book a time to come and see us. We will be able to inform you better if you phone before you come. Here we will welcome you to the University and give you the information you need to settle into your new environment. We will also give you information about language courses and other activities.

The URV Language Service can give you information about free Catalan language courses in Tarragona and Reus and courses in Spanish as a foreign language. For more information visit their web site:
For this information please consult the ORI web site at this address:
You should bring photocopies of your medical-insurance documents. It is better to show photocopies rather than the original documents because if you lose them or have them stolen you do not need to go through the process of replacing them, which is difficult when you are living in a foreign country. If you need medical assistance you can go to:

You may use the library and computer rooms once you have obtained your URV student card. This card's magnetic stripe will allow you entry into these facilities. Ask the BACU (student information officers) at your school or faculty for information about how these facilities operate and when they are open.
You should consult the Spanish embassy or consulate in your country of origin.
You must ask the International Relations Office for a letter of acceptance. This will be signed by the Rector's Delegate for International Relations.
You must legalise your situation at the Subdelegació del Govern (offices of the central government) in your city of residence.
