Presentation

This master's degree teaches students about:
-The design of chemical processes in industry and the laboratory, environmental and economic factors
-Drawing up of applied research proposals, preparation, characterization, recovery, deactivation and regeneration of catalysts.
-The design of new methods of synthesis using catalysts.

Admission requirements

The Master's Degree courses are open to anybody with an official university qualification, even Spanish or foreign (this foreign degree must enable you to be admitted to postgraduate studies in the country where you obtained it).

In addition, universities in charge of the organization of a Master can establish those procedures and requirements considered necessary to be finally admitted to the Master. Therefore, as well as having a previous official degree, you should get informed about additional conditions and selection criteria which may have been addittionally established by each Master.

Contents

Course taught in: Catalan, Spanish, English

There are three different stages:

1. Advanced chemistry in order to start the study of catalysis in depth (60 obligatory ECTS)
2. Specialised training in the design, preparation and characterization of catalysts and their industrial applications (30 optional ECTS)
3. Carrying out a project in catalysis in the URV laboratories, ICIQ, european university or in a chemical enterprise (30 obligatory ECTS).

First year: Advanced Chemistry

Obligatory subjects (60 ECTS): Inorganic Solids (3), Organometallics (3), Structural Determination I (6), Structural Determination II (3), Coordination Compounds (3), Advanced Physical Chemistry (6), Advanced Organic Chemistry (4,5), Documentation (3), Advanced Analytical Chemistry (4,5), Experimentation in Advanced Chemistry (9), Experimentation in Advanced Inorganic Chemistry (3), Experimentation in Advanced Analytical Chemistry (3), Materials Science (6), Groups Theory (3).

Second year: Catalysis, Characterization and Techniques, Application and New Technologies, Complementary Activities, Research Assignment or Project in a Company

Els Màsters ofereixen itineraris específics que s'activaran en funció del nombre d'estudiants admesos.

Pre-registration

The preregistration period (1st phase) will begin on 1st March and end on 30th April.

If all the places available are not taken within this period, a new preregistration period will be opened (2nd phase) between 1st and 30th June.

The preregistration must be carried out on the Internet. The online form will become operative on the first day of the preregistration period. preregistration application.
