Presentation

This master's degree provides students with knowledge about the complexities of the Mediterranean area and gives them criteria for taking political, social and economic decisions. It also gives methodological data for research, prepares professionals and experts in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and provides students with a historical, social, legal and political base. It trains students to manage a NGO, and draw up and assess cooperation projects on local, regional and European scales.

Admission requirements

The Master's Degree courses are open to anybody with an official university qualification, even Spanish or foreign (this foreign degree must enable you to be admitted to postgraduate studies in the country where you obtained it).

In addition, universities in charge of the organization of a Master can establish those procedures and requirements considered necessary to be finally admitted to the Master. Therefore, as well as having a previous official degree, you should get informed about additional conditions and selection criteria which may have been addittionally established by each Master.

Contents

Course taught in: Spanish (20%), Italian (30%), French (30%) and English (20%)

The master's degree is structured in modules that deal with culture, politics, economy, law and methodology and there is also a practical assignment. The modules on the academic schedule must done one after the other. It is essential for students to acquire the skills taught in module A before they can attempt module B, and so on. Because of problems of time, a few subjects have been placed at the end of the schedule and not in the module to which they really belong.

Module A. Basic skills
These subjects are considered to be the key to understanding the great processes that are taking place in the Euro-Mediterranean area and professionals who envisage dealing with problems and managing supranational or local organizations need to have a good knowledge of them (political and historical base, religious currents, cultural traditions).

Module B. Specific skills
These subjects go deeper into specific aspects of the subjects dealt with in module A, providing a more detailed vision (north-south dialogue, religious dialogue, legal aspects, international relations, human rights).

Module C. Specialities
More professional-oriented subjects in key areas that will affect the future of the Master's Degree students (audiovisual, business, NGO, international organizations, the tourist sector, etc.)
