Official Master's
- Polytechnic University of Catalonia (coordinator)
- Rovira i Virgili University
- University of Barcelona
Compulsory student mobility: no
This master's degree prepares students to undertake tasks of responsibility in industry, the Administration or in the national and international academic world. The programme covers many research issues related to the design, analysis and use of artificial intelligence systems. The main aim is to train professionals who specialize in advanced computer areas of intelligent systems. Students will also be able to cope with highly technical problems that require a certain amount of innovation or research.
The Master's Degree courses are open to anybody with an official university qualification, even Spanish or foreign (this foreign degree must enable you to be admitted to postgraduate studies in the country where you obtained it).
In addition, universities in charge of the organization of a Master can establish those procedures and requirements considered necessary to be finally admitted to the Master. Therefore, as well as having a previous official degree, you should get informed about additional conditions and selection criteria which may have been addittionally established by each Master.
Course taught in: Catalan, Spanish and English (if necessary)
The master's degree is organized in semesters.
Students must do 60 obligatory credits at the URV in the following subjects:
- Parallel Architectures (4.5)
- Design of Graphic Interfaces (4.5)
- Software Engineering I (4.5)
- Computer Networks I (4.5)
- Compilers (4.5)
- Artificial Intelligence (4.5)
- Introduction to Research (3)
- Electronic Commerce (6)
- Parallel Architectures II (4.5)
- Real Time Information Systems (6)
- Software Engineering II (4.5)
- Computer Networks II (4.5)
- Compilers II (4.5)
Students must do their master's dissertation at the URV (30 credits) and they must also do 30 optional credits at the URV or the UPC in a variety of subjects:
Most of the courses during the third semester are designed to train students in one or several of the aspects of the programme. Students can opt for a general overview (taking subjects dealing with a range of issues) or greater specialization (taking subjects from just one aspect of the master's course)
The subjects in each of the aspects are the following:
Knowledge Engineering, Automatic Learning and Multiagent Systems
- Learning in Agents and in Multiagent Systems (LAMS)
- Systems for Multcriteria Decision Aiding (MCDA)
- Intelligent Decision Making Support Systems (DMSS)
- Multi Agent Systems (MAS)
- Advanced Automatic Learning Techniques (AALT)
Natural Language Processing
- Empirical Methods for Natural Language Processing (EMNLP)
- Symbolic Methods for Natural Language Processing (SMNLP)
Reasoning and Problem Solving
Computational Logic for Artificial Intelligence (CLAI)
Problem Solving and Programming with Constraints (PSPC)
