The main aim of the Master's Degree in Teaching Foreign Languages is to train professionals to teach Spanish and English as foreign languages. Students are provided with a theoretical base and the practical instruments required to organize the teaching of Spanish and English as foreign languages The content of the programme guarantees an in-depth knowledge of the language chosen and familiarity with the didactic techniques and methodologies that are most appropriate for effective teaching.
The programme contains a number of credits that are common to the two specialities (English and Spanish) as well as subjects that are specific to each one. This means that students can be awarded both qualifications if they do a small number of extra credits.
As well as the professional mode, the Master's Degree in Teaching Foreign Languages also has a research mode designed for those students who wish to focus on a theoretical or practical aspect of the field of foreign language teaching at doctorate level.
The Master's Degree coruses are open to anybody with an official university qualification, even Spanish or foreign (this foreign degree must enable you to be admitted to postgraduate studies in the country where you obtained it).
In addition, universities in charge of the organization of a Master can establish those procedures and requirements considered necessary to be finally admitted to the Master. Therefore, as well as having a previous official degree, you should get informed about additional conditions and selection criteria which may have been addittionally established by each Master.
Course taught in: Spanish as a Foreign Language: Spanish English as a Foreign Language: Spanish and English The Master's Degree in Teaching Foreign Languages is organized in four academic semesters. The first two semesters mainly consist of theoretical and practical obligatory and optional subjects, the aim of which is to guarantee in-depth, extensive knowledge of the language chosen. The third and fourth semesters consist of more practical subjects that aim to provide the students with the efficient didactic tools, learning methodology and teaching techniques required by good professionals. The Master's Degree also contains a practicum in which the students will have to put into practice their knowledge and skills by teaching classes or producing teaching materials and didactic units. The content of the Master's Degree is organized in the following modules: Module I - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Descriptive and Normative Spanish Grammar - English as a Foreign Language: Basic Aspects of English Language and Linguistics Module II - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Practice and Use of the Spanish Language - English as a Foreign Language: Practice and Use of the English Language Module III - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Language Teaching Methodology - English as a Foreign Language: Language Teaching Methodology Module IV - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Spanish as a Foreign Language - English as a Foreign Language: English as a Foreign Language Module V (professional mode) - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Practicum - English as a Foreign Language: Practicum Module V (research mode) - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Research project - English as a Foreign Language: Research project Module VI (research mode) - Spanish as a Foreign Language: Research methodology - English as a Foreign Language: Research methodology

Official Master's degrees offer specific Modes which will be effectively initiated -or not- depending on the number of students finally admitted.
The preregistration period (1st phase) will begin on 1st March and end on 30th April.
If all the places available are not taken within this period, a new preregistration period will be opened (2nd phase) between 1st and 30th June.
The preregistration must be carried out on the Internet. The online form will become operative on the first day of the preregistration period. preregistration application.
